Our new addition...

I've mentioned on here before that D and I have 4 cats. Two are his and two are mine. It can be crazy around here when they all get wound up.

A couple months ago, our neighbor sold her house. She had been feeding a stray cat, called Tom Tom, that lives around here. She had tried to take him inside but her three cats hated him and he loved to pee on everything so back outside he went. She liked Tom Tom enough that she wanted to make sure he was ok so she asked if we'd keep some food on our porch for him. She said she's stop by with food from time to time (she has once so far; we'll see if that continues).

At first, we didn't see much of Tom Tom. We would go next door and carry him over if he was around so he could see where his bowl was. We put food out and it would be gone in the morning, but was he eating it or was a raccoon visiting during the night? It took a few weeks but Tom Tom eventually started hanging out on our porch a little more. He'd be dozing on the steps in the sunshine or curled up on a chair. Now, we can tell if his bowl is empty because he sits and stares at the front door. Sometimes, he stares after we've feed him too. D and I have left for work in the morning and he'll have his little back to the street just staring at the door like he's waiting for somebody to come give him some attention. Right now, he's crashed out on the porch railing with his little leg hanging over the edge.

I didn't want to be but I'm kinda attached to Tom Tom now. I knew it would happen though. I get attached to things to easily. He's the sweetest little thing. There's something about his face that just makes me smile. He seems pretty old (he moves pretty slow sometimes) and he's battered from being outside and from fighting. I call him our "half cat" because he's around sometimes and wandering the neighborhood the rest of the time.

He disappeared for about a week one time and we were afraid something happened to him. I know one day he won't come back but at least I know we made his time here a little bit happier.
